Lori Erickson’s marker on Iowa City’s Literary Walk

Lori Erickson’s articles and essays have received awards from organizations that include the Society of American Travel Writers and the Midwest Travel Writers Association.

In 2004, her children’s book Sweet Corn & Sushi was named the Iowa Children’s Book of the Year and was given to 40,000 schoolchildren.

In 2011, she was honored with a bronze marker in her hometown of Iowa City, Iowa. The marker is part of the city’s Literary Walk, which features a variety of installations recognizing authors who have lived and worked in the community. The walk was installed after Iowa City was named by UNESCO as the world’s third City of Literature in 2008.
